A five-member expert team from the Geological Survey of India is set to visit the lake area on September 1, 2026. They will spend 14 days conducting a comprehensive scientific survey of the lake and its surroundings to assess potential risks.
These efforts follow a notification from ISRO in November 2023. ISRO had informed the district administration that Ghepan Lake had significantly increased in size beyond normal levels, advising the implementation of necessary precautionary measures.
