Texas Border Agents Seize 163 Exotic Reptiles

Border officials at the Anzaldúas International Bridge in Mission, Texas, recently intercepted a significant illegal wildlife trafficking attempt. Agents discovered 163 live reptiles and arthropods, including snakes, lizards, and tarantulas, concealed within a pickup truck, believed to be destined for the exotic pet trade.

The driver of the vehicle was apprehended, and the seized animals were handed over to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. This discovery highlights a concerning trend of escalating exotic pet smuggling in the region, prompting renewed efforts by customs and wildlife agencies to combat such activities and enforce international regulations.
