Three critically endangered Sumatran tiger cubs recently marked their first birthday with a unique celebration. Nova, Nadirah, and Naresh enjoyed a playful romp amongst a large pile of cardboard boxes, a favorite activity for cats, as arranged by Kasha Carter, head of carnivores at West Midlands Safari Park.
These young tigers are vital participants in a European breeding program. Their species faces an extreme risk of extinction in the wild. Conservation efforts are paramount due to severe threats including habitat loss and human conflict.
