Self-service bicycle repair stations have been installed at six East Riding Leisure centres, offering cyclists free access to essential tools and bike pumps. These convenient stations are located externally at the centres in Bridlington, Beverley, Driffield, Haltemprice, Withernsea, and Hornsea, ensuring easy accessibility for those out on their bikes.
Councillor Paul West highlighted the project's aim to assist cyclists with urgent repairs while they are out and about. The initiative is supported by Active Travel England, which promotes cycling for its health and environmental benefits and supports people choosing to travel by bike. Launch demonstration events are scheduled for May.
