The Friends of Wrens Nest Nature Reserve, a local volunteer group, are particularly excited about the prospect, as the reserve is the birthplace of Abraham Darby, a key figure in the Industrial Revolution.
The funding will support a range of projects that aim to highlight Dudley's unique natural and historical assets. In addition to being one of the country's most notable geological locations, the area is also home to significant limestone quarrying remains and a diverse array of rare flora and fauna.
