NDMC's Clean Air Strategy Pays Off: No Pollution Hotspots
1 Feb
Summary
- NDMC reports no identified air pollution hotspots in its jurisdiction.
- Sustained technology upgrades and greening efforts credited for clean air.
- Over 3 million plants were planted in 2025-26, enhancing green cover.

The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has reported a significant achievement: its jurisdiction currently has no identified air pollution hotspots. Officials attribute this success to a comprehensive strategy involving sustained technology upgrades, rigorous enforcement of environmental norms, and aggressive greening efforts.
The council's clean-air strategy is multi-layered and operates continuously. Key components include the deployment of anti-smog guns, mechanised sweepers, and misting systems. NDMC operates nine anti-smog guns, with additional units deployed at construction sites. Mechanised sweepers cover substantial distances daily, with plans to expand the fleet with new CNG and battery-operated models.
