Delhi Metro Expands Early Morning Services for Chhath Puja Travelers

As of October 31st, 2025, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced the early resumption of its services to serve passengers returning to Delhi-NCR after the Chhath Puja festival. The additional train services will be in effect until November 3rd.

According to the DMRC, the early morning train services will commence at 5:15 am from the New Delhi Metro Station (Yellow Line) and Anand Vihar ISBT Metro Station (Blue/Pink Line) to provide connectivity to passengers arriving at these major transit hubs.

In addition to the expanded train services, DMRC Managing Director Dr. Vikas Kumar and officials from the civil and environment departments have inspected construction sites in north Delhi to assess dust control measures. The corporation has deployed anti-smog guns at all active construction sites as per guidelines, and noted that it was among the first in the National Capital Region to adopt such measures, even before they became mandatory.

The DMRC has also stated that the number of additional trips could be increased to 60 if the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) Stage III is enforced due to worsening air quality. The corporation has implemented several long-term environmental initiatives, including redirecting dewatered water from the construction of Phase IV underground stations to help restore the Roshanara Bagh Lake.
