Delhi Chokes Under Severe Smog as Pollution Curbs Remain in Force

On November 14, 2025, Delhi woke up to another day of choking smog, as the air quality in the city remained in the 'severe' category. The Air Quality Early Warning System recorded the city's Air Quality Index (AQI) at 386, while private air quality monitor AQI.in pegged it at 470, equivalent to the impact of smoking 12 cigarettes a day on one's lungs.
Despite the alarming pollution levels, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has kept Stage III of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) in place across Delhi-NCR. This stage includes restrictions on construction activities, brick kilns, stone crushers, and other high-emission operations in an effort to curb the worsening air quality.
A dense layer of haze has shrouded the skyline, leaving buildings and arterial roads barely visible in the morning. The situation remains critical, with authorities continuing to enforce strict measures to combat the severe air pollution crisis in the region.
