- Smog blankets central Delhi, prompting health warnings for exposure.

On Monday, November 2nd, the air quality in Delhi and surrounding areas worsened considerably. Delhi recorded an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 310, a notable increase from the 277 registered the day prior. This elevated level placed the city's air quality into the 'very poor' category.
Visuals from central Delhi revealed the city enveloped in a thick layer of smog. Noida, a neighbouring region, also experienced a decline in air quality, with its AQI reaching 311, mirroring Delhi's 'very poor' status. Health advisories from the Central Pollution Control Board warned of potential respiratory illnesses due to prolonged exposure in these areas.
Other neighbouring cities also reported concerning pollution levels. Ghaziabad and Gurugram were in the 'poor' air quality category with AQIs of 278 and 230, respectively. Faridabad, however, recorded a comparatively better AQI of 116, categorised as 'moderate'. Earlier in the week, rain had provided temporary relief, with Noida's AQI at 58 on October 30th, before it rose sharply in subsequent days.
