In response to this alarming situation, the region remains under Stage 3 restrictions of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP). This mandates that private offices reduce on-site staffing to 50%, with the remainder working remotely. The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has also advised for staggered timings in government offices to curb traffic-related pollution. Educational institutions have been instructed to halt all outdoor sports and physical activities to protect students.
The surrounding National Capital Region (NCR) is also experiencing poor air quality, with Noida and Ghaziabad registering AQI levels in the 'severe' and 'very poor' categories, respectively.
