On Sunday, the Dalma forest division hosted an educational trekking event for students, drawing an enthusiastic 150 participants from Karima City College and Jamshedpur Co-operative College. The five-kilometer trek journeyed through the scenic Dalma landscape, commencing from the NH-33 forest entry point and concluding at the Pindrabera forest guest house. This initiative aimed to impart crucial knowledge about the forest's ecosystem, its diverse wildlife, and contemporary environmental issues.
During the four-hour expedition, students actively participated in environmental conservation efforts, including the collection and proper disposal of plastic waste littered along the trail. They also learned to segregate degradable and non-degradable waste. Officials highlighted the impact of plastic pollution on forest wildlife. Additionally, an awareness session focused on climate change and global warming, detailing their effects on the environment and forests, underscoring the vital role of nature for human sustainability.
