An artist in Cornwall has initiated a unique project to commemorate the vast number of trees lost or damaged during Storm Goretti. Woodworker Charlie Thacker aims to honor the significance of these trees by creating art from their rings. He is collecting stories from locals about their connection to the trees or the trees' historical uses.
Thacker will sand the tree rings to a high grit, soak them, and then create prints. A limited run of about 15 prints per tree will be exhibited in Cornwall. He also hopes to collaborate with a local artist to create a map pinpointing the original locations of the trees.
