In a move to boost eco-tourism, the District Collector of the region, Sumit Kumar, has unveiled plans to transform the Musalimadugu forested village into a vibrant destination. On November 2nd, 2025, the Collector inspected the forested areas in Bangarupalem and Palamaner mandals, which border the Koundinya Wildlife Sanctuary.

During the visit, Mr. Kumar stated that Musalimadugu has the potential to develop on the lines of the renowned Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary in Tamil Nadu. The Forest officials informed the Collector that Musalimadugu and the adjoining Tekumanda regions are known for their frequent elephant movements, with migratory herds often emerging from the Mudumalai and Bannerghatta forests along the Western Ghats.
