The third edition of the Climate Reality Check report has been released, analyzing the portrayal of climate change in feature films. Compiled by Good Energy, the report assesses films based on whether climate change is present in the story and if characters acknowledge it.
This year, sixteen Oscar-nominated films met the eligibility criteria, being set on Earth in the present, recent past, or future. Of these, five films successfully passed the check: Arco, Bugonia, Jurassic World Rebirth, The Lost Bus, and Sirāt.
These five titles represent a 31% pass rate, a notable improvement from the 10% rate recorded in 2025. The report emphasizes that climate reality can be integrated across diverse genres and cinematic styles, from intimate animations to large-scale blockbusters, showing its potential to unfold in countless narrative forms.
