A photo exhibition in Beijing's 798 Art District is spotlighting the crucial role of Chinese NGOs in supporting community-driven efforts to combat climate change. The exhibition, timed with the International Day for Biological Diversity, showcases three years of work in northern China.

Hosted by the China Association for NGO Cooperation and supported by Oxfam Hong Kong, the event features photos of innovative climate adaptation strategies. These initiatives are designed to align with China's National Climate Change Adaptation Strategy 2035.

Projects include establishing seed banks in Hebei and Inner Mongolia, conserving over 270 local seed varieties. In Hebei's Taihang Mountains, 112 water cellars were renovated, and solar-powered drip irrigation now supports 39 hectares of terraced fields.

In Inner Mongolia, a "fresh grass factory plus pasture bank" model uses intelligent soilless cultivation and a reserve system. This ensures feed availability and stabilizes prices for herders, especially during disaster years.

In Qinghai province, co-management committees have restored 173 hectares of degraded black soil land. Women's cooperatives have also been established, generating significant income through handicrafts.

Photographer Qiubi documented these grassroots actions, capturing scenes of Tibetan herders and farmers actively responding to climate change at high altitudes and on terraced fields.
