China Provinces on High Flood Alert Due to Typhoon Noul

China's Ministry of Water Resources elevated its flood-control emergency response to Level III for Jiangxi, Hunan, and Guangdong provinces on Sunday. This upgrade is in direct response to the high risks of mountain floods anticipated from Typhoon Noul.

Risk assessments indicate that 43 counties across these three eastern, central, and southern Chinese provinces will experience red-alert-level mountain flood risks between Sunday 8 am and Monday 8 am. This signifies a substantial likelihood of these disasters occurring.

To manage the situation, the ministry has dispatched two additional working teams to Jiangxi and Hunan. These teams are tasked with providing on-the-ground assistance and guidance for flood-control efforts. Authorities are urged to monitor the typhoon closely and focus on vulnerable locations.

Local water resources departments are advised to utilize monitoring and early-warning systems effectively. Prompt delivery of warnings to threatened residents and decisive evacuations are emphasized to protect lives, especially in areas near mountain rivers and gullies.
