A new venue dedicated to sustainability, named The Greenhouse, has recently opened its doors in Cheltenham. Launched by the charity Vision 21 on Earth Day, this initiative aims to foster learning and idea-sharing about eco-friendly practices.
The Greenhouse is designed with sustainability at its core, incorporating a heat pump, rainwater harvesting systems, and solar power. Its offerings include engaging youth sessions, informative film screenings, practical upcycling workshops, and vital discussions on environmental and social justice.
Charity CEO James Cooke stated the hub will "empower people to live greener and more sustainable lives," while project lead Raechel Kelly described it as a community asset that will "lead the way on climate solutions." Local group Cheltenham Action for Nature plans to utilize the space for talks, highlighting the need for a central hub for climate change discussions.
Vision 21 is fundraising for The Greenhouse's operational costs and development through the Big Give Earth Raise appeal, where donations made by April 29 will be matched.
