Chandigarh recently celebrated the conclusion of its three-day zero waste Chrysanthemum Show at Terraced Garden, Sector 33. Dignitaries lauded the creative floral arrangements, featuring chrysanthemums crafted into animal and bird models by municipal gardeners. The event actively promoted environmental sustainability through initiatives like waste segregation, home composting, and the showcase of eco-friendly products by a local self-help group.
The show strictly adhered to zero-waste principles, incorporating on-site composting for food waste and maintaining high cleanliness standards. Attendees were treated to a variety of cultural performances, including Rajasthani and Punjabi folk dances, Bhangra, Sufi music, and Mushaira, keeping the atmosphere lively throughout the event.
The successful conclusion of the 38th Chrysanthemum Show was marked by an awards ceremony, recognizing the efforts of municipal gardeners and other participants.
