As of November 6th, 2025, the Queen's Park in Bournemouth has unveiled a new eco-friendly viewing platform made from recycled plastic. The structure, which has a wood-like effect, was opened to the public just last week and aims to provide visitors with better access to the park's vibrant pond life.
The project was a collaborative effort between the Queen's Park and Charminster Neighbourhood Forum and the Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council. The local authority allocated community infrastructure levy funding to bring the initiative to life. Councillor Alasdair Keddie, the ward councillor for Queen's Park, praised the partnership, stating that the new platform "not only enhances the visitor experience but also reflects our commitment to sustainability and improving access to green spaces."
