Bidar Youth Quench Thirst of Forest Wildlife
12 May
Summary
- Youths provide water containers for wild animals and birds.
- Cement containers of 120 litres capacity are used.
- Group members refill containers every three days due to heat.

In Bidar, dedicated youths are ensuring the survival of forest wildlife this summer by providing vital water sources. Members of Swabhimani Geleyara Balaga have placed water containers in forest areas like Nagora and Chidri.
Utilizing funds from their own pockets, the group installed 120-litre cement concrete containers to help animals such as monkeys and peacocks quench their thirst. This initiative has been ongoing for about a month.
As temperatures now exceed 40 degrees Celsius, the water requires refilling every three days, a significant increase from the initial weekly schedule. To conserve water and keep it cooler, the containers are partially covered.
This yearly effort stems from a desire to address the lack of water sources for animals in the forest, preventing them from venturing into villages in search of hydration.
