Bavaria Explores Green Ties with India's Mysuru

A delegation from the Bavarian State Parliament recently met with Mysuru-Kodagu MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar in Mysuru. Facilitated by the State of Bavaria India Office, the meeting aimed to foster cooperation between Karnataka/Mysuru and Bavaria. The discussions centered on critical areas like sustainability, water management, agriculture, and heritage conservation.

Key topics included climate resilience, sustainable agriculture, and the circular economy. Both parties exchanged views on shared challenges such as drought, water stress, and rapid urbanization. They explored opportunities for knowledge and technology transfer in water management, waste reduction, and renewable energy solutions.

Sustainable agriculture, focusing on resource efficiency and technological innovation, was also a significant part of the dialogue. Furthermore, the meeting addressed strengthening recycling systems and responsible plastic waste management. Cooperation in heritage conservation amidst urban growth, including preserving historic buildings, was also discussed, with potential expertise exchange with Bavarian institutions.

Academic and research partnerships in sustainability and water management were explored, with an invitation extended to MP Yaduveer to visit Bavaria. Sustainable tourism and agricultural transformation were also on the agenda, emphasizing a balance between economic growth and environmental considerations.
