- Floodwaters receded, and extensive cleaning was completed.
- The idol received a special purification bath and puja.
The Bade Hanuman temple in Prayagraj has reopened for devotees on Saturday, marking the end of a two-week closure due to Ganga floodwaters. The floodwaters, which submerged the temple premises on August 30, finally receded on Friday. Temple management conducted thorough cleaning on Saturday morning under the supervision of chief priest Balveer Giri.
Before allowing devotees entry, the idol of Bade Hanuman was given a special abhishekam, involving a ceremonial bath with sacred items like Ganga water, turmeric water, curd, milk, honey, and ashtgandh. This was followed by a puja and the deity was adorned with flowers and ornaments. The Ganga river's water level in Prayagraj continued to recede, with readings below previous levels at Phaphamau and Chhatnag.
