Alligator Causes Chaos at Georgia McDonald's, Authorities Intervene

On September 26th, 2025, a 12-foot alligator was first spotted lurking near the drive-thru of a McDonald's restaurant in Mason, Georgia. The alligator remained in the area for the next two days, drawing the attention of curious passersby.

Ignoring warnings from law enforcement, some members of the public decided to take matters into their own hands and try to capture the alligator. They attempted to duct tape the reptile's mouth shut, putting themselves in harm's way. This prompted a response from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office, who arrived on the scene to safely wrangle the alligator.

Video footage shows the alligator rolling on the asphalt as officials tied its jaws shut with cloth and ropes. Authorities then relocated the wild animal to a private pond in Laurens County, Georgia, away from the populated area.

According to Captain Linda Howard of the sheriff's office, the public's reaction to the alligator was highly unusual, with many people becoming dangerously curious and trying to capture the gator themselves. She emphasized that feeding, harassing, or removing wildlife is illegal in Georgia.

Fortunately, no one was injured during the alligator ordeal, and the reptile was successfully relocated to a safer environment.
