Uttar Pradesh Offers Cashless Medical Care for 9 Lakh Teachers

In a major move to support teachers, the Uttar Pradesh government has announced a cashless medical treatment facility for all government teachers in the state. This decision, announced by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Teachers' Day, will directly benefit around 9 lakh teachers, including those in primary, upper primary, secondary, government-aided schools and colleges, as well as shiksha mitras, instructors, and cooks.
The chief minister emphasized that this initiative will ensure teachers and their families no longer face financial crises during illnesses or emergencies. He also distributed state awards to 81 teachers for their innovative practices, and provided tablets to principals of 2,204 government secondary schools. Additionally, Adityanath inaugurated smart classes in 1,236 government secondary schools, as part of the state's efforts to enhance digital learning.
The chief minister directed education department officials to expedite the implementation of the cashless treatment facility, underscoring the government's commitment to supporting and empowering the teaching community. He praised teachers as the "creators who strengthen the foundation of the nation" and stated that their respect and welfare are a top priority for the government.
