Uttar Pradesh Governor Mandates 75% Attendance, Emphasizes Research

In a recent address at the 44th convocation of Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel highlighted the significance of research and called for a mandatory 75% attendance policy for students.

Patel emphasized that identifying societal issues, studying them, and implementing effective solutions is crucial. She urged universities to utilize government research grants for projects that cater to the welfare of the community. The governor also stressed the importance of students regularly attending lectures, using laboratories and libraries, and striving to excel in their studies.

Furthermore, Patel, who is the Chancellor of all state universities, encouraged the acceleration of activities under the agreements signed with foreign universities. She expressed happiness over the enrollment of international students and stressed the need to treat them with cooperation and affection, as per the state's cultural values.

The governor also encouraged students to visit neighboring countries' universities, learn from their education systems, and implement positive experiences in their own institutions. Patel highlighted that factors like NAAC, NIRF, and global rankings play a significant role in attracting foreign students, and universities should focus on improving their overall quality.
