This impending announcement signifies the culmination of the selection process, leading to the formation of the final merit list for appointments to India's esteemed civil services.
The interview and personality test stages for the CSE 2025 cycle were conducted in January 2026 at the UPSC headquarters in New Delhi. These interviews carried a weight of 275 marks, with no minimum qualifying threshold. For the 2025 examination cycle, the UPSC has notified 979 vacancies. This contrasts with 1,105 vacancies advertised in 2024. The vacancies also encompass 38 positions reserved for persons with benchmark disabilities.
In the previous year, 2024, Shakti Dubey secured the top rank in the Civil Services Exam. Notably, women have demonstrated strong performance in recent years, with three of the top five ranks in 2024 held by women. The overall selection process is rigorous, comprising three stages: Preliminary, Mains, and the Personality Test, with the final merit list reflecting performance across all stages.
