- New system assesses academic, cognitive, and psychological development.
- Rollout planned after March 2026 examinations.

In a significant educational reform, Uttar Pradesh primary schools are preparing to implement comprehensive 360-degree report cards for students in Classes 1 to 5. This new assessment system, developed by SCERT in collaboration with state experts and based on NCERT proposals, will debut after the end-of-session examinations in March 2026. The initiative aims to provide a holistic evaluation, encompassing academic, cognitive, and psychological development.
Aligning with the National Education Policy 2020's emphasis on critical thinking and innovation, the report cards will assess academic performance alongside life skills, mental health, and artistic interests. The question paper patterns for Classes 2 to 8 will also be revised to support this competency-based approach, shifting focus from rote learning to analytical ability and creativity. Students will engage in self and peer assessments, contributing to a multi-dimensional evaluation across cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains.
