He highlighted that schools are fundamental in building a clean society and instilling good habits from an early age. The MC's effort aims to shape children's behavior and environmental consciousness through this ranking system.
Prerna Puri, secretary of education, underscored the importance of a clean and safe school environment for effective learning, linking sanitation, health, and education. MC Commissioner Amit Kumar explained that the ranking aligns with Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban 2.0 guidelines, focusing on sustainability. Assessment criteria include visible cleanliness, waste management, toilet facilities, and environmental practices, with photographic evidence and segregation playing key roles.
Schools can join the initiative by scanning a QR code or registering via a provided online link. The MC will recognize and award clean schools in various categories, showcasing best practices citywide to promote a continuous culture of cleanliness.
