During the LLM entrance examination at Lucknow University's second campus on Monday, a candidate was apprehended for allegedly using a mobile phone. The incident occurred in the first shift at the engineering faculty examination centre.
Fellow examinees noticed candidate Jatin Varshney, from Aligarh, using a mobile device and alerted the invigilator. University spokesperson Mukul Srivastava confirmed that mobile phones are prohibited and stated action would follow university rules.
After being caught, Varshney was taken to a first-floor room for questioning. He subsequently escaped through the room's window before authorities could complete their proceedings.
An FIR has been lodged against Varshney. His application is set for cancellation, and a process to debar him from future university examinations has commenced.
