24 Feb
Summary
- Presidential candidate received obscene content on social media.
- She alleged threats of physical harm and campaign sabotage.
- The cyber police are investigating the complaint.

Anushka, an Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) presidential candidate for the Patna University Students' Union (PUSU) elections, has lodged a formal complaint with the cyber police. She alleges receiving a barrage of obscene content across social media platforms, which she believes is a deliberate tactic to undermine her campaign and morale.
Anushka reported receiving threats, including those of physical harm, and stated that her election posters were also torn down by opponents. She highlighted that the issue extends beyond her personal experience, with other students at Patna University also facing similar harassment but refraining from reporting due to social stigma. The Patna cyber police confirmed receiving the complaint and are currently investigating.
A video of Anushka in tears had recently circulated online, which she explained was due to false rumours and derogatory posts targeting her character. Despite the challenges, she remains determined, asserting her courage and commitment to addressing the broader problem of online harassment faced by students.
