The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the postponement of the Constable (General Duty) examination for the 2026 recruitment cycle. The original Computer Based Test (CBT) was scheduled to commence on February 23, 2026.
Fresh dates for the examination are expected to be released by the Commission shortly, with media reports suggesting a potential announcement in the first or second week of March 2026. Candidates will be able to access the complete timetable on the official SSC website. The Commission has also confirmed that there will be no slot selection facility; candidates will be assigned dates and centers directly. Prior to the exam, an intimation slip indicating the exam city will be provided 8 to 10 days in advance, followed by admit cards typically issued 2 to 3 days before the exam date.
