The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has unveiled the examination schedule for the 2026 Constable (GD) recruitment drive. This recruitment covers Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), Secretariat Security Force (SSF), and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles. The nationwide examination is set to commence on April 27, 2026, and will conclude by the end of May 2026.
A significant new feature for the 2026 cycle is the introduction of a preference-based scheduling system. This allows registered candidates to select their preferred examination window through the official SSC portal. This initiative is designed to enhance convenience and manage the large volume of applicants more efficiently.
The examination is divided into four distinct windows. The first runs from April 27 to May 2, 2026. This is followed by May 4 to May 9, May 18 to May 23, and finally May 25 to May 30, 2026. Candidates must submit their week preferences between April 11, 2026, at 15:00 hours and April 15, 2026, at 17:00 hours via their official accounts.
