Beginning in Fall 2026, the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) will introduce a new Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Production at its Atlanta campus. This program is set to be based at SCAD Film Studios, located in Midtown Atlanta.
Students enrolled in this degree will focus on music production, recording, sound engineering, and the music business. The curriculum is designed to leverage Atlanta's significant role in the music industry, nurturing genres from gospel and hip-hop to R&B.
The new major, part of SCAD's School of Film and Acting, aims to prepare graduates for a wide array of careers. These include roles like music producers, audio engineers, composers, sound designers, artist managers, and music supervisors.
The program's location within SCAD Film Studios provides access to professional facilities, including editing suites and broadcast studios. This initiative aligns with Atlanta's growing status as a global music hub for hip-hop and R&B, preparing students for success in music, film, television, gaming, and digital media.
