Prince Gabriel of Belgium recently graduated from the Royal Military Academy, obtaining a degree in Social and Military Sciences. He celebrated this milestone with his parents, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde, who were present at the ceremony. His older sister, Princess Elisabeth, also attended, having graduated from the same academy previously.
This graduation marks a pivotal moment as Prince Gabriel is poised to become the first member of his family to embark on a paid professional military career. This path was not traditionally open to Belgian royals until recent legal changes. As the heir, he is not expected to undertake official royal duties.
Following his graduation, Gabriel is scheduled to undergo specialized military training. He will attend the Infantry School in Arlon to learn infantry platoon command, followed by paratrooper training in Marche-les-Dames and Schaffen. This year also saw Gabriel undertake his first solo engagement at the Queen Elisabeth Music Competition.
