Preston's new multimillion-pound facility for young people, Vault Youth Zone, has received a generous donation of ten refurbished laptops. Representatives from the University of Lancashire and RecycleIT presented the 15-inch devices.
These laptops will be instrumental in providing digital resources and support for individuals aged eight to 19, extending to age 25 for those with additional needs. The facility, located on Tithebarn Street, aims to offer a range of activities including sports, arts, and crucial employability training.
This initiative follows a similar donation of 12 repurposed laptops to Preston's Foxton Centre last year. The university is also involved through degree apprentices, with two students working part-time as apprentice youth workers, gaining firsthand experience in supporting young people's digital development.
