22 Mar
Summary
- Plymouth's breakfast club scheme is expanding to more schools.
- Four new schools will join the program in April and more in September.
- Existing clubs provide a calm start and benefit the whole school.

The Best Start in Life school breakfast club initiative in Plymouth is expanding its reach. Starting this spring and continuing into the autumn, more schools will offer free breakfasts to all pupils. Currently, four schools participate, with four more set to join in April. An additional cohort of schools will begin the program in September.
Councillor Sally Cresswell highlighted the expansion as an investment in children and the city's future. Schools like Pennycross Primary, already part of the scheme, report over 200 children attending daily, benefiting from a calm start and relieved parents. New participants from April include Marlborough Primary Academy, St Peters Church of England Primary, Victoria Road Primary, and Austin Farm Academy, with more joining in September.
