IIT Hyderabad Hosts Global Optics & Laser Experts

IIT Hyderabad is set to host Photonics 2026, the 17th edition of the International Conference on Fibre Optics and Photonics. This significant event will gather researchers, industry leaders, and young scientists from around the world to explore developments in optics and laser technologies.

The conference program is designed to bridge the gap between academic research and industry needs. It includes plenary sessions, keynote addresses, tutorials, and invited talks. Notable speakers such as Professor Donna Strickland, a Nobel laureate from the University of Waterloo, Professor Ursula Keller from ETH Zurich, and Professor Chennupati Jagadish from the Australian National University will participate.

Four special events are scheduled to foster collaboration, entrepreneurship, and research development. These include PhotonBridge for academic and industry collaboration, SheShines to highlight women in optics, LaunchLight for startup innovation and funding discussions, and InsightLab for PhD students to refine their research with senior academics.

The conference is organized by IIT Hyderabad in collaboration with the University of Hyderabad, DRDO's Centre for High Energy Systems and Sciences, and the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Hyderabad.
