The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) is resolute in its commitment to upholding the quality of medical education for Pakistani students, whether studying within the country or internationally. President Dr. Rizwan Taj emphasized this during a meeting with a delegation from Kyrgyzstan, led by their Minister of Science and Education.
Discussions explored avenues for collaboration and addressed crucial aspects like the registration criteria for foreign medical graduates, admission standards for Pakistani students in foreign institutions, and the accreditation of international medical colleges. Pakistan currently boasts 186 medical and dental colleges and has registered over 365,000 doctors.
Dr. Taj clarified that only graduates from PMDC-recognized foreign institutions are eligible for provisional registration and must pass the National Registration Examination. Kyrgyzstan's Minister of Science and Education expressed keen interest in strengthening ties and acknowledged Pakistan's contributions to global medical standards.
