Osmania University Secures ₹1,000 Crore for Major Upgrade

The Telangana government has allocated ₹1,000 crore towards enhancing the infrastructure of the renowned Osmania University (OU) in Hyderabad. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced the significant funding, emphasizing the state's commitment to elevating the university to meet global standards in academic and infrastructural quality.
Reddy acknowledged the university's historical significance and its instrumental role during the Telangana Movement, which led to the state's formation in 2014. He assured that the government is focused on providing quality education for all to foster rapid development, highlighting initiatives like integrated residential schools and the establishment of a Young Indian Skills University.
Furthermore, a committee has been constituted to identify and fill existing vacancies in teaching and non-teaching positions. The university authorities will consult with all stakeholders, including students, to finalize plans for world-class infrastructure development. A QR code was also released for public suggestions on the university's advancement.
