Olentangy Local School officials commenced construction on June 1 for the district's fifth high school, situated in Delaware city. This significant educational expansion is a response to the rapid growth in one of Ohio's fastest-growing districts.
The new 300,000-square-foot high school, expected to open its doors in fall 2028, will include a variety of amenities. These will encompass outdoor athletics facilities, an 800-seat auditorium, main and auxiliary gymnasiums, a weight room, a media center, a commons area, and a café.
This initiative is made possible by a $235 million bond levy that Olentangy voters approved on November 4. The funds will also contribute to the construction of the district's 18th elementary school and improvements to existing facilities. Superintendent Todd Meyer expressed gratitude to the community for their continued investment in the school district's future.
