Summary
- A temporary learning village is ready for pupils after Easter holiday.
- The school closed in December due to safety concerns.
- Parents and pupils eagerly await returning to normality.

St Peter's C of E Junior School in Ruddington, Nottinghamshire, is nearing its reopening after a sudden closure in December due to site safety concerns. A new temporary 'learning village' constructed on the school grounds since January is expected to welcome pupils following the Easter holiday. This development brings a sense of relief and anticipation for parents and children who were displaced to neighbouring schools, including Jesse Gray Primary School which accommodated 95 pupils.
Pupils, like eight-year-old Fern, who experienced a disrupted daily commute, expressed immense joy at the prospect of returning to their familiar school environment. Parents also shared their relief, acknowledging the challenges but highlighting the community's resilience. The temporary learning village will feature 12 classrooms, a hall, dining room, kitchen, and a dedicated nurture space, promising a functional and flourishing environment for students before the school's long-term demolition and rebuild.
