State Launches Model Autism Complexes for Inclusive Education

Model autism complexes are set to be established in all 14 districts to advance inclusive education for students with special needs. The State's General Education Minister, V. Sivankutty, announced the initiative, emphasizing that these complexes will focus on tailored individual learning and therapy.
These structures are being developed with differently-abled-friendly architecture, ensuring barrier-free access, ample natural light, and secure environments. Beyond standard classrooms, each complex will house specialized rooms for speech therapy, occupational therapy, and sensory integration, along with assessment and counseling services.
The government has allocated ₹2.7 crore for the construction of each model autism complex. Additionally, facilities for parent training and a multi-purpose hall are incorporated to provide comprehensive support within these modern centers.
