NEET UG Re-exam: Scores Falsified?
20 Jul
Summary
- Candidate Arya Singh alleges her NEET score changed from 540 to 167.
- Her OMR sheet initially indicated a score of 609 marks.
- Another candidate, Aarushi Patel, also reported score discrepancies.

Fresh questions are emerging regarding the NEET UG 2026 re-exam results, as multiple candidates report significant score discrepancies. Arya Singh from Kanpur alleges her initially indicated score of 609 on her OMR sheet was inaccurately displayed as 540 on the NTA portal, then drastically reduced to 167 within hours of the results being declared on July 16, 2026. This situation follows similar claims by Aarushi Patel from Ayodhya, whose reported score also changed post-publication.
Arya Singh has submitted formal complaints to the National Testing Agency and the Ministry of Education, providing evidence such as her OMR sheet and screenshots of the changing scores. She states that her OMR sheet was initially uploaded with an incorrect question order, and even after revision, the displayed marks did not align with her calculations. This incident marks her second attempt at NEET, having encountered comparable issues in 2025.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has previously addressed broader allegations of OMR sheet mix-ups by stating that some disputed sheets circulating online were digitally altered. However, the agency has not yet issued a specific public response to Arya Singh's detailed allegations. The ongoing controversy continues to fuel demands for a thorough investigation into the NTA's evaluation procedures and score reporting.
