Doctors Demand Faster Super Specialty Counseling
6 May
Summary
- FAIMA urges expedited NEET SS 2025 counselling to reduce delays.
- Counseling postponement causes uncertainty and distress for doctors.
- Doctors request parallel counseling rounds with legal processes.

The Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) has urged the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) to expedite the NEET Super Specialty (SS) 2025 counselling. Ongoing legal proceedings in the Supreme Court have caused repeated postponements of the second round of counselling, creating considerable uncertainty for aspiring super-speciality doctors nationwide.
FAIMA's letter to the MCC director highlights that while the first round of counselling was completed, subsequent rounds have been significantly delayed. This prolonged uncertainty is adversely affecting candidates, many of whom are senior residents working under excessive workload and stress. The delay impacts academic progression and contributes to workforce shortages in critical super-speciality departments.
To mitigate these issues, FAIMA requested the MCC to explore conducting future counselling rounds concurrently with the legal process, where feasible. They also sought urgent clarification from authorities to prevent further delays and asked for a clear, transparent timeline for the counselling process to alleviate candidate anxiety.
