23 Jun
Summary
- NTA denies claims of NEET-UG 2026 paper leak, calling video fabricated.
- Strict security measures were in place during the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination.
- Legal action is being initiated against those spreading the false video.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has categorically denied allegations of a paper leak for the NEET-UG 2026 examination, labeling a viral video circulating on social media as fabricated and misleading. The agency confirmed that the re-examination, held on June 21, was conducted successfully with comprehensive security and surveillance measures in place.
In response to the misinformation, the NTA is initiating legal action against the individuals responsible for creating and disseminating the false video. Collaborating with the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) and law-enforcement agencies, the NTA aims to identify and prosecute those involved in this serious offense.
The NTA urged students, parents, and the public to exercise restraint and verify information solely through official channels, such as the NEET website (neet.nta.nic.in) and official NTA communication handles. The agency emphasized the importance of maintaining a calm and fair environment for the over 20 lakh candidates participating in the examination process.
Meanwhile, education experts noted that the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination appeared more analytical and concept-based, rated as moderate to difficult. Candidates are anticipating the provisional answer key, expected around June 28, to raise any objections.
