Governor R N Ravi recently conferred degrees upon 49,864 students at the 38th convocation of Tamil Nadu MGR Medical University. Notably, 65% of these graduates were women, highlighting their significant presence in the medical field. Among the distinguished recipients, S Shwetha was celebrated as the top achiever, earning an impressive nine gold medals for her outstanding MBBS degree performance.
During the ceremony, 295 students, including 58 PhD candidates, received their degrees in person. The university distributed a total of 353 medals and certificates. The keynote speaker emphasized the critical importance of continuous learning and adaptation to technological advancements for sustained success in the medical profession. One gold medallist, Grizelda P, was recognized for her achievements despite having a cochlear implant.
