Michigan SAT Scores Dip: Top Schools Shine

The Michigan Department of Education recently reported that the statewide average combined SAT score for the 2025-26 school year was 945.1. This figure represents a slight decline, falling nearly 10 points from the 954 average recorded in the 2024-25 school year. The SAT, which assesses reading, writing, and math skills, is administered to juniors each spring.

Leading the state in performance was International Academy in Oakland Schools, which posted an impressive average SAT score of 1302. Following closely were International Academy of Macomb with 1242 and Novi High School with 1187. Other high-achieving institutions included Washtenaw International High School and Troy High School. These top schools are located across Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw, Kent, and Saginaw counties, indicating strong academic outcomes in both Metro Detroit and West Michigan.
