A new five-minute film, "You Told Us To Talk About the Weather," narrated by Michael Sheen, has launched nationwide with the goal of enhancing climate change education in schools. The production was filmed on a rewilded farm in Norfolk and developed in collaboration with young farmers. Its core purpose is to address the common practice of discussing the weather while overlooking broader climate change conversations.
The film features Norfolk-based actor Hemi Grimsby alongside Ben Mansfield and Florence Wright. It was written by Emma-Louise Howell, who drew inspiration from her discussions with young farmers in Norfolk. Howell noted their deep engagement and their belief in working with nature as a solution.
Director Harry Tomlin stated that the rural Norfolk setting provided an ideal backdrop, allowing the story to be told through a child's perspective in a folk-horror genre. The film seeks to offer an accessible entry point for audiences to engage with climate education without feeling pressured or patronized.
