Summary

- Students alleged unusually low and unfair marks in maxillofacial surgery.
- University re-evaluated 84 answer sheets, revising student results.

Examiners at Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences in Rohtak are facing scrutiny after show-cause notices were issued. The notices demand an explanation within seven days regarding their removal from exam duties due to alleged unfair evaluation of answer sheets. This action stems from a complaint by Bachelor of Dental Surgery students regarding their maxillofacial surgery examination results.
Students reported unusually low marks and unfair grading, prompting an inquiry ordered by Vice Chancellor Dr. H K Aggarwal. An investigation revealed deficiencies in the evaluated answer sheets. Consequently, all 84 answer sheets assessed by the two implicated examiners were reviewed by senior faculty from another dental college.
Following the review, students were awarded revised marks, and a new examination result was declared. Dr. Aggarwal stated that negligence impacting students would not be tolerated, underscoring the university's dedication to ensuring no student's academic future is compromised. The university aims to maintain a transparent and academically sound environment.
