Maryland Schools Earn High Marks: 90% Score 3+ Stars in Latest Report

According to the latest Maryland School Report Card, the state's public schools are continuing to improve, with nearly 90% earning 3 stars or more as of November 2025. This marks a 3% increase compared to the previous year.
The report highlights several notable achievements across the state. In Baltimore City, the percentage of schools earning 3 stars or higher jumped to its highest level since 2018. Meanwhile, Baltimore County had the largest number of 5-star schools, and Howard County maintained the highest average school ratings in Maryland.
"These results reflect the hard work happening in Maryland classrooms every day," said Dr. Carey Wright, the State Superintendent of Schools. "The Maryland School Report Card reinforces our commitment to high-quality educational opportunities for every student."
